Why the change in venue?

That's ironic wording since i am an attorney at my day job. :) I wanted to host a chess-only "webpage" rather than just a blog. (Note the categories at the top margin.)

Okay, nice, you're taking the stand to testify an improved way to learn chess without taking the bar exam. I like it, since you've already provided evidence with your 1. e4 e5 as Black case. The jury concurs and I for one certainly do not object.

Can I ask a leading question? Are you going to do a similar series on 1. d4 d5 as Black?

Keep up the good work and we'll do our best to keep any hostile witnesses (like the previous comment from anonymous) off the new diggs.

Katar-

What are your thoughts on the Tarrasch (and Semi-Tarrasch) Defenses?

IMO:
Tarrasch is good, ideal to learn with. Semi-T is less active and therefore good as a backup opening. Hennig-Schara gambit is reckless/fun and can be another backup in the Tarrasch complex.

OK dude, that is just not right to post that vid and ask for no immature comments, verging on madness. I object!

I'll change my link to this site.

It's actually a fairly decent explanation of how the pieces move. I like the way she lays out the pennies to show all the squares the pieces cover. It would be better if she didn't use the dopey chess set, and would call the pieces by their proper names. Horse and Castle? Grrrrr you know how many times I have to tell my students it's knight not a horse?

Also here explanation when you can't castle was not correct on the queen side. The King was not passing through a check.

I'm going to ignore the gratuitous display of boobs. :-)

Katar, are your chessvideo.tv lectures available for purchase? I find the Ulvestad and the Berlin ones great but the site is blocked at work.
thanks
